Dry and Dehydrated Skin
Are the harsh winter conditions leaving your skin dry and dehydrated? Can’t put enough moisturizer on your skin, but still feel no relief? Watch this video for long-term hi-tech solutions to bring your dry skin back to normal.
- Cleanse your face on a daily basis – morning and night. Choose a cleanser with a low pH and gentle alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which are antibacterial and remove dead skin cells from the surface. Unfortunately, most drugstore cleansers have a pH that is too high, which will leave your skin feeling dry and chapped. Some skin care lines try to compensate for the high pH and recommend a toner to lower pH. Most toners use an astringent, which also dries out your skin leaving it feeling dry and stripped of moisture. With a proper cleanser, you can clean your face without leaving it dry and unbalanced. Daily Cleanser is my favorite.
- Resurface the skin and unblock pores to allow the natural moisture barrier to reach the surface. Resurfacing Accelerator uses AHAs with glycolic acid and a low pH to penetrate and break up the dead skin cells.
- Use ingredients that don’t evaporate on the skin, but penetrate deep into the layers of skin. For example, products with long-string peptides keeps moisture on the surface of the skin and penetrate into the layers to protect the natural moisture barrier. Tri-Power Peptide Hydrator is a lightweight formula that helps brighten the appearance of skin and reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps improve skin hydration by holding moisturize on the skin longer. For even more hydration in harsher environments, essential botanicals and oils can really help relieve the dry, tight feeling of winter skin. Ultra Rich Moisturizer incorporates the natural botanicals of Aloe, Mango, Cranberry, Bergamot, Shea butter, and Safflower to moisturize while helping to soothe irritation and calm puffiness for skin that appears soft, bright, and luminous.
